Ayla Erdener is a local artist currently living in Austin, Texas.
She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and has done additional course work at the Rhode Island School of Design, Penland School of Crafts and Austin Community College.
She is a participating artist in E.A.S.T. Austin Studio tours as well as WEST Austin Studio Tours. She can be found in her art studio in East Austin or painting murals around town.
As a local Austinite, she's seen Austin grow and change. Austin's culture and lifestyle has influenced many of her pieces. She is also heavily influenced by her Turkish heritage and Turkish folklore and patterns. When she's not creating art, she loves to bake sweets, go for bike rides and get drinks with friends.
Her artwork is optimistic, vibrant and bold. Her watercolors are simple, charming and narrative in nature. She paints large abstract oil paintings that are colorful and upbeat.
She is intrigued by the exploration in knowing who you are or the journey to find out.
